Coral Edgar, 26, lured Mr McKnight, 26, to Charles Street home so that he could be attacked early on July 24 last year, a trial at the city s crown court heard in recent weeks. But as soon as he arrived there, he was subjected to a beating so savage that it left him on the point of death . Gravely injured but still alive, Mr McKnight was thrown into a river south of Carlisle. Mr McKnight - attacked because he owed a drugs debt - was powerless to help himself and drowned.
