A WOMAN accused of shoplifting had her case dismissed by magistrates on Thursday. Nicola Jayne Duke, of no fixed abode, was accused of stealing £62.25 worth of meat from the Co-operative in Barrow on 20 February 2021. The 41-year-old appeared before magistrates at South Cumbria Magistrates Court on Thursday 8 July, but prosecutor Lee Dacre explained that a witness, a police officer, had failed to turn up to court. This then led to Duke s case being dismissed in court and will not be charged for the offence she was accused of.
