The scales of justice A WOMAN was arrested by officers at a caravan park after she made threats to police over the phone, a court heard. Sandra Dixon, 49, was hauled before magistrates after she made several threats to police both over the phone and when they attended the caravan park, off Barrow s Schneider Road. She pleaded guilty to using disorderly or insulting words when she appeared at South Cumbria Magistrates Court. Prosecutor Lee Dacre told the court it happened on July 31. He said: At about 3.05pm police received a 999 call to Schneider Road from a female making threats. When they attended she was shouting and swearing at police.

Thomas Campbell was hauled before the court after he was charged with stalking his ex-partner using messages, calls and attempting to set fire to her place of work. The defendant, of Longlands View in Kendal, was told he was at a crossroads in his life as his jail sentence for the disgusting offence was suspended by magistrates. The 42-year-old was also made subject of a restraining banning him from any contact with his former girlfriend and her new partner for three years.

A MAN spat on his girlfriend after an argument, a court heard. Magistrates were told Michal Nowichi was angry after his partner s friends left a bit of a mess following a party at their home in Windermere. The 30-year-old, of Main Road, admitting a charge of assaulting Laura Caney on August 13 when he appeared at South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court in Barrow. Prosecutor Lee Dacre said Nowichi was intoxicated. “The defendant had come home and there was an argument between them,” Mr Dacre said. “After this the complainant went to make a cup of tea, following which the defendant spat at her, and that spit landed on her face.”
