Head coach Mike Rigsbee was honored to carry over the momentum from Todd Wilkerson's tenure into another year and is confident that a fourth straight state championship is more than feasible .

HENDERSON The Crossroads Christian womenâs soccer team had plenty of reasons to celebrate on senior night Thursday, as they defeated Lee Christian 6-2 due to a five-goal performance from junior Tori Renna.
Thursdayâs triumph gave Crossroads their seventh victory on the 2021 season, which is the most wins recorded in the history of the program but head coach Holden Coghill believes that many more winning seasons are on the horizon for Crossroads.
âIâm so proud of these girls,â Coghill said. âThe momentum that weâve made this year is going to create a ripple effect. This is going to be a program-changing season and itâs so cool that it ends up culminating on senior day.â

After dropping their first 10 games of the 2021 season, the Vance County womenâs soccer team put together their best performance of the year against Southern Durham on Tuesday, which resulted in the teamâs first victory.
Vance County had to deal with relentless pressure from Southern Durham throughout both 40-minute halves but maintained their composure and pulled away to secure a long overdue 7-2 win.
Following a rematch with Southern Durham on Wednesday, Vance County will start their final week of regular-season play on Monday when they host Cedar Ridge at 6 p.m.
