Mnet’s “Kingdom: Legendary War” (hereafter “Kingdom”) held a press conference on April 1 ahead of its premiere. CP (chief producer) Park Chan Wook, PD (producing director) Lee Young Joo, MC TVXQ’s Changmin, and the six competing groups were in attendance.
“Kingdom” is the male version of Mnet’s competition program “Queendom” and features the six teams THE BOYZ, Stray Kids, ATEEZ, BTOB, iKON, and SF9.
BTOB’s Eunkwang shared, “We contemplated about BTOB’s appearance on the show, but a lot of our members are in the military right now, so we wanted to show more diverse activities for Melody [BTOB’s fans]. We did feel pressured about having to show a legendary stage, but we decided to appear on the show.”

A competition between high-profile K-pop boy bands is about to kick off.
Mnet s survival show Kingdom: Legendary War, featuring six groups ― BTOB, iKON, SF9, The Boyz, Stray Kids and ATEEZ ― will air its first episode at 7:50 p.m. Thursday (KST). But the program is not a cookie-cutter version of its previous incarnations Road to Kingdom (2020) or Queendom (2019), according to its producer. No groups will be eliminated on the way, producer Lee Young-joo said during an online press conference, Thursday. It is nonsensical to eliminate any of them, given their artistry and uniqueness. We want our viewers to watch their riveting performances until the end.
