Clare Vaccine Clinic In Disarray After Issues With Syringe Delivery

Clare FM 26th February 2021 Picture © Liz Masoner via Pixabay A Covid 19 vaccination clinic in Shannon was thrown into disarray today after issues with the delivery of syringes needed for its administration. Supplies of the Pfizer vaccine were delivered to Shannon medical centre this morning, but the specialised syringes needed to administer it did not arrive. As a result, staff at the clinic had to call local hospitals and pharmacies to obtain the necessary equipment, to allow the clinic to finally get underway this afternoon. First COVID Vaccine To Be Administered To Clare Nursing Home Residents

Clare FM 7th January 2021 The first COVID-19 vaccines are being administered in a Clare nursing home this morning. The HSE has confirmed that the jab is to be offered to 22 residents and 49 staff at Regina House Nursing Home, Kilrush, today. The vaccine is scheduled to be administered to residents and staff at Ennistymon Community Hospital, St. Joseph’s Hospital in Ennis and Raheen Hospital, Tuamgraney, on the week starting January 18th. It follows criticism over the much slower rate of vaccination, when compared to some other countries. It comes as the first vaccines are administered in a Kilrush nursing home.
