The Lyon County Sheriff’s Department released its weekly activity report Sunday morning regarding arrests made in the county last week, including a Marion man and Princeton woman who were charged with trafficking meth and criminal trespassing.
Sheriff Brent White reports on Sunday morning, January 24, shortly after 1:15 he observed a suspicious vehicle pull into the driveway of an elderly female on U.S. 641 North. After an investigation, Sheriff White says 49-year old Timothy Matthews, of Marion, and 50-year old Nikonia Ware, of Princeton, were taken into custody and charged with their second offense for trafficking in a controlled substance – greater than two grams of methamphetamine, third-degree criminal trespassing, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Ware was also charged with possession of synthetic drugs.

An Eddyville teen is facing several charges after he reportedly stole a vehicle and led a deputy on a high-speed pursuit in Lyon County that ended when the teen crashed into a metal utility pole early Saturday morning.
Lyon County Sheriff Brent White reports the pursuit began shortly after 2:00 a.m. on US 641 about 3.5 miles north of Eddyville. He says Deputy Keith Suits was on patrol and attempted to make a traffic stop on a vehicle he met after the driver failed to dim his headlights and had a taillight violation. As the deputy turned around, the driver, later identified as 18-year old Cameron Doles fled southbound on US 641 at speeds over 100 mph, causing the deputy to lose sight of the vehicle.
