Wolves 2-0 Town Monday, 11th Apr 2005 22:24
Town s automatic promotion hopes were dealt a big blow by a 2-0 defeat at Wolves. The Blues were well off the pace in a first half during which Colin Cameron and Carl Cort put the home side two goals in front. Town improved after the break but created few chances.
Boss Joe Royle switched back to a 3-5-2 formation with Matt Richards coming in as left wing-back and Darren Currie dropping to the bench.
Wolves were out of the blocks quickly and South Korean international Ki-Hyeon Seol curled a 25-yarder wide.
After five minutes the home side went in front. Lee Naylor went round Fabian Wilnis on the left - possibly fouling him as he did so - and crossed low into the box. Kenny Miller missed the ball, it struck David Unsworth and landed at the feet of Colin Cameron who took it wide of Kelvin Davis and shot into the net off the cross-bar.

HarryFromBath assesses the mood in the opposition camp ahead of Saturday’s game at the DW Stadium by delving into their forums.
“A big game next up at home when we do need to go for it”, “The last two draws have felt like losses given the chance we had to pull clear, but we never looked like taking it”, “I am more worried about relegation than I was prior to these last two draws. I have not seen the fight that I was hoping for.”

Following some impressive signings, Shrewsbury have established themselves this season. After a sluggish start, Cotterillâs team have claimed some reasonable scalps at this level to steer themselves six points clear of the drop zone â having played just 24 games â at a time many would seldom have expected them to.
Among their squad â you may remember from the reverse fixture on Wearside just two-and-a-half weeks ago â are ex-Black Cat Donald Love, along with Leon Clarke, Ro-Shaun Williams and new recruit Curtis Main.
We continue to wish the hostsâ manager Steve Cotterill all the very best as he continues to recover from Covid-19 in hospital, with assistant Wilbraham taking the side from the dugout.
