Indiana State Police on Friday announced the arrest of Andrew King, 35, of Rochester. King has been charged with reckless homicide and false informing in connection to a fatal three-vehicle crash in Miami County on May 10.
Troopers were called to the area of U.S. 31 and Miami County Road 100 North on May 10 for reports of a crash.
Investigators learned King was distracted while driving a 2016 Volvo semi northbound on U.S. 31. King failed to stop at the red light and rear-ended a Toyota Corolla driven by Sarah Wallace, 32, of South Bend, police said. Her two young children Cecilia Wallace, 2, and Leo Wallace, 6 months, were backseat passengers in the vehicle.
A South Bend baby was killed Monday in a crash on U.S. 31 and two other people were seriously injured.
Police responded to a three-car crash just before 4 p.m. on U.S. 31 at Miami County Road 100 North. According to Indiana State Police, two vehicles were stopped or slowing down for a red light at Miami County Road when a semi did not stop and hit one of the vehicles, pushing it into the second vehicle.
Leo Wallace, 6Â months, was killed in the crash. Cecilia Wallace, 2, was flown to Riley s Hospital for Children in Indianapolis. She sustained life-threatening injuries. Sarah Wallace, 32, was transported to a Fort Wayne hospital with serious injuries.

PERU, Ind. (WISH) A 6-month-old boy died Monday after the driver of a semi-tractor failed to stop for a red light, crashing into two cars ahead of it in Miami County.
Officers with the Indiana State Police and Peru police responded around 4 p.m. Monday to the intersection of U.S. 31 and County Road 100 North for a crash.
State police say the three vehicles were traveling north on U.S. 31 and coming up to a red light at County Road 100 North. A Chevy Malibu driven by 75-year-old Christine Wells, of Rochester, was coming to a stop, as was a Toyota Corolla behind her, driven by 32-year-old Sarah Wallace, South Bend. The semi-tractor drive by 35-year-old Andrew King did not stop, rear-ending the Corolla and pushing it into the Chevy.

The six-month old was identified as Leo Wallace, according to Police.
A Volvo semi-tractor rear ended into Toyota Corolla which then crashed into a Chevrolet Malibu causing the crash at the red light at Miami County Road 100 North, according to Police.
Another child sustained life threatening and was flown to Riley’s Children’s hospital in Indianapolis.
Another woman sustained serious injuries and was flown to Fort Wayne hospital.

MIAMI COUNTY, Ind. A Monday afternoon crash in Miami County left a six-month-old child dead and injured two other people.
Indiana State Police said it happened around 4 p.m. on US 31 at County Road 100 North.
A preliminary police investigation said two northbound cars were stopped or slowing for a red light at the intersection with they were struck from behind by a semi-tractor trailer. The impact caused one car to be pushed into the other car.
A backseat passenger in one of the cars, six-month-old Leo Wallace, died from injuries he sustained in the crash.
Another backseat passenger, Leo s 2-year-old sister, Cecilia, was taken by medical helicopter to Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health with what were described by police as life-threatening injuries.
