tunesday – good morning

11 May 2021 Grab the AUX cord, we’ve found some sweet, jangly tunes for your next drive out to the country. They come from Melbourne’s Good Morning (Stefan Blair and Liam Parsons) who dropped not one, but two, cruisy toe-tapping tracks at the end of April: “Mollyduker” and “Keep It”. The former is about Stefan’s relationship with his grandpa and the family farm he grew up on, while “Keep It” is an ode to your late 20s, with all the repressed feelings, failures and misadventures that come with the territory. It sounds kind of heavy, but don’t let that deter you – these are warm, inviting songs made for long drives on sunny afternoons. Speaking of which, Good Morning are hitting the road in June with a bunch of gigs lined up across Victoria. More info on that over here.

Events: Good Morning — Triple R 102 7FM, Melbourne Independent Radio

As the latest band to break out from Melbourne s rich history of jangle and indie songwriting, Good Morning are seasoned at crafting melodic and melancholic guitar music. After forming in high school and releasing a string of singles and EPs, they hit their stride in earnest in 2019. That year saw Good Morning come in hot, right off the top and release two understated and keenly observed albums, The Option and Basketball Breakups. Filled with classic quips and requited love songs, the records embrace a charming DIY ethos without banging on about it. At MOS, Good Morning founding members Liam Parsons and Stefan Blair will perform stripped back sets in duo mode. Sounds like a Good Evening.
