Diana Ordoñez turned in her second hat trick of the season to help push No. 13 Virginia to a 3-0 victory over Rice on Wednesday in the Round of 16 of the NCAA Tournament at WakeMed Soccer Park.
Virginia (13-4-2) advances to face fourth-seeded TCU (12-1-2) in the quarterfinals on Sunday. Kick is set for 5 p.m. ET in that match at WakeMed Soccer Park.

The No. 13 Virginia women’s soccer team defeated No. 17 BYU 2-0 by a score of 2-0 at WakeMed Soccer Park.
BYU (11-4-1) was the No. 12 seed in the tournament, while Virginia is unseeded.
Virginia (12-4-2) will face Rice (14-2-1) in the third-round match on Wednesday. First kick is set for 9 p.m. at WakeMed Soccer Park.

Fire officials in Depoe Bay, along the central Oregon coast, said Saturday that they had been flooded with calls “of concern and panic” after the city activated its emergency tsunami sirens to alert residents to a forthcoming high wind watch.
