GARDINER Gardiner elected officials are considering a proposed municipal budget that at $6.5 million is 5% higher than the current year’s spending plan and could increase the property tax rate by 60 cents, bringing it to $22.30 per $1,000 of assessed valuation.
The budget document, presented publicly to elected officials for the first time at Wednesday’s City Council meeting, is expected to undergo some changes in the weeks to come, as the City Council is scheduled to discuss and debate the plan before giving it a final approval in June.
