North Carolina Healing Communities Fund, an affiliate of the North Carolina Community Foundation, recently awarded The Storehouse a $30,000 grant.
“We are very grateful for this generous grant from NCCF. It will help us continue to help our neighbors,” Lynn Staggs, Executive Director of The Storehouse of Henderson County, stated in a news release.
The Storehouse is a Christ-centered ministry providing food and life s most basic necessities for those in need in Henderson County, according to the nonprofit s website. The food pantry assists local seniors, singles and families.
“We’ve faced many obstacles since we began this food pantry ministry in 2000,” according to Staggs. “Covid brought a steep decline in our food donations this past year, even as more folks in Henderson County faced food insecurity.”

Councillor Lynne Stagg, the council s traffic and transport boss, said: We know that many residents in the city really struggle with bicycle storage at home due to lack of outside space and this scheme will provide a practical solution to this problem. Renting a space in one of the secure hangars will be a huge advantage to anyone who normally struggles to carry their bike up to a flat or through a terraced house. If storage has stopped people from previously owning a bike, this could be a great opportunity to get one.
