Despite drastic measures, the Covid-19 outbreak developments in HCM City remain complicated. The enforced social distancing period will end on June 30 and it has been difficult for the city to decide whether to extend the period.

On the evening of June 27, HCM City reported 200 more cases, mostly related to infection chains or cases in quarantine zones. The sources of infection were unknown in 12 of the cases.

Vietnam opens office for Odessa honorary consul
High-ranking officials of Ukraine s Odessa province attended the opening ceremony of Vietnam new honorary consul office on June 25.
Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Ukraine and Moldova Nguyen Hong Thach said the opening of the office is a vibrant demonstration of the fact that that Vietnam always attaches importance to traditional and friendly relations with Ukraine; as well as Vietnam’s wishes to strongly develop all cooperation channels between the two countries.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health has set up two additional makeshift COVID-19 treatment hospitals which focus on treating patients with mild symptoms.
The decision came after the number of cases in the city exceeded 3,000 and is expected to continue rising in the coming time, said Nguyen Tan Binh, director of the municipal health department.
One of the two new infirmaries was established at the dormitory of the Center for National Defense and Security Training under the Vietnam National University-Ho Chi Minh City, located in Di An City in neighboring Binh Duong Province.
