Nonprofit collecting Barbie dolls for Macomb County children in need
With the Barbie doll’s 62nd birthday on March 9, Woman’s Life Chapter 911 President Lynn Karnes, who shares the same birthday, decided to organize a collection of the iconic dolls for local children.

ROSEVILLE In recognition of the Barbie doll’s 62nd birthday, Woman’s Life Chapter 911, a Port Huron nonprofit, will be holding a collection of the dolls for Macomb County children.
The idea came from Woman’s Life Chapter 911’s president, Lynn Karnes, who has always had a special connection with Barbie.
Teams like this one from last St. Patrick’s Day, which includes Kristen King, Julie Maley, Tara Powrozek and Shirley West, will take part in a road rally scavenger hunt to benefit Woman’s Life Chapter 911 and the Sparkle Network on Saturday, March 20.

EASTPOINTE/ROSEVILLE The Eastpointe-Roseville Chamber of Commerce is planning a socially distanced fun event to benefit two local nonprofits.
The Get Shamrocked Eastside Photo Scavenger Hunt and Road Rally will take place at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 20, and will benefit Woman’s Life Chapter 911 and the Sparkle Network.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP/UTICA Woman’s Life Chapter 911 is looking for help collecting Barbies now through March 13 for children in foster care.
The charitable group is looking for some help from Shelby Township and Utica residents in addition to residents of surrounding communities to meet a goal of 109 Barbies and books.
Lynn Karnes, the Woman’s Life Chapter 911 president, said that in honor of her birthday and Barbie’s birthday, she decided to collect Barbies to donate to Macomb Foster Closet.
