Tesco customers in Swindon can now help to provide millions of meals to feed children this summer, thanks to a new scheme. To help ensure children do not miss out on meals, Tesco will make a donation for every piece of fresh fruit and veg bought in its Swindon stores from July 19 to August 8. The three-week campaign aims to provide up to three million meals for Tesco’s charity partner FareShare to redistribute to charities and community groups supporting children. Campaigner and footballer Marcus Rashford MBE is supporting the scheme. He said: We all have a role to play in the community and I’m so grateful to Tesco for stepping up to support vulnerable children and families through a difficult time.

Burnham-On-Sea Tesco store holding food collection today to support local families
Tesco is holding an extra food collection in its Burnham-On-Sea store this week to support children and families this summer.
The collection, supported by Burnham-On-Sea Lions Club, is taking place in the Ben Travers Way store from July 15th to 17th, with customers invited to donate long-life food to the Trussell Trust and FareShare to help them in their vital work to support families in need.
Tesco will once again be topping up all customer donations with a 20% cash donation to the two charities.
Jason Tarry, Tesco UK CEO, says: “The Trussell Trust and FareShare face extra demands during the summer, when children who would normally enjoy a healthy meal in school may miss out.”
