Chamber honors healthcare workers

Chamber honors healthcare workers FacebookTwitterEmail MARYVILLE The Troy/Maryville/St. Jacob/Marine Chamber of Commerce on March 4 delivered 1,100 “Healthcare Kindness Day” bags to Anderson Hospital. “Our healthcare workers were working hard every single day but, in March of 2020, they were asked to not only work harder but put themselves at risk of COVID,” said Chamber Executive Director Dawn Mushill. “Every one of them has had a very trying 10 months and they are still dealing with so much. So we created a holiday for them.” Mushill said the idea came from a Chamber board meeting. The bags have been in progress for a couple of months. Each bag contained gift certificates, treats, a kindness jar (with over a dozen kindness sayings that they can take “as needed”), a handwritten thank you note, a scratch off ticket for a free item at a local restaurant and a flyer telling the story of Healthcare Kindness Day.
