CLINTON Jared Eliot Middle School has found a new principal in Kristin LaLima.
She was appointed by Clinton’s board of education June 21. The selection committee recommended LaLima after an extensive interview process that included over 40 candidates applying for the role.
A spokesperson for the district said LaLima has a sixth-year degree in educational leadership, and a master of arts degree in teaching from Sacred Heart University, as well as a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from Keene State College.
Before joining Clinton Public Schools, she was the assistant principal of Killingly Intermediate School, which serves grades five through eight.
In the lush spring of
2010 at the
University of Wisconsin – Madison, thousands of newly minted graduates walked the stage to receive their diplomas and left campus to begin the next chapter of their lives.
Elsewhere on campus that same weekend in May, away from the celebratory pomp and circumstance, a rhesus macaque named
Cornelius was born in a barren laboratory at the
Wisconsin National Primate Research Center
(WNPRC).
He’s been trapped there ever since.
Cornelius’ decade of life has been defined by loneliness and misery. Like most monkeys born in laboratories, he was taken from his mother when he was just an infant, as his mother was so distressed that she couldn’t even care for him.
In less than two weeks, the GoFundMe page for the children of two GSM employees killed in the York County, South Carolina, shooting has hit $346,982.
GSM Services created the page for the children of James Lewis and Robert Shook, who were working at the home of Dr. Robert Lesslie and his wife Barbara when the April 7 shooting took place. All four of them died in addition to two of the Lesslies grandchildren, 9-year-old Adah and 5-year-old Noah.
Lewis mother, Linda Tucker, feels blessed by all of the well-wishes and prayers from the community. GSM has done nothing but bend over backward to make sure everyone was taken care of and supported, Tucker said. They set up the GoFundMe so the kids could have a trust fund to make sure they could go to college or whatever they want to do with their future, and I m terribly blessed.
