ALBANY - It s closing time for to-go alcohol at bars and restaurants.
The popular carry-out alcohol sales that were allowed during the COVID-19 pandemic through an executive order is set to end Thursday.
The reason? Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Wednesday that he will end New York s state of emergency due to the pandemic on Thursday. And the to-go alcohol sales were part of the emergency order. Licensees please be advised that with the ending of our state of emergency and the return to pre-pandemic guidelines, the temporary pandemic-related privileges for to-go and delivery of alcoholic beverages will end after June 24, the state Liquor Authority wrote Wednesday on Twitter.
