100,000 milestone reached for Lisa Leader

Lisa Leader, with partner Scott and daughter Ava. - Credit: Jackie Wardropper Lisa Leader’s mum says she is overwhelmed that the £100,000 milestone had been reached by the end of 2020.  Lisa , a Godmanchester mum, has brain cancer and her friends and family spent the latter part of 2020 raising money so that she can receive life-prolonging immunotherapy treatments.   Jackie Wardropper, Lisa s mum has expressed her gratitude to everyone who helped make it happen.  Jackie said: “I am overwhelmed by the support since the campaign started at the beginning of September last year.  “It is amazing that we have been able to reach the £100,000 milestone the day before New Year’s Eve 2020. 

Lisa Leader hits target thanks to Butterfly Legacy Project

Jackie and the team also started making bits for Christmas, such as little quilted bags that they had originally made for the women’s refuge; while Morrisons also offered donations. They filled the bags with smellies , pieces of personal care items and made sweetie bags for children too.  Jackie continued: “From that we started making all these bits for the stall, and Lisa’s parents came down with a Marks & Spencer hamper and we raffled that off as well, along with the two quilts. Jackie and the Butterfly Legacy Project also raised £1,000 for EACH, a children’s charity.   For the past nine months group have been sewing scrubs, hats bags etc for the NHS, care homes, Hinchingbrooke Hospital, Age UK, care leavers, PARCA, Huntingdon COVID-19 response team, food banks, mental health facilities, The Salvation Army, CUH and many more.

Stay at Home, Save Lives
