That is why the team here at The News always is working hard to keep you informed with information that is important for all of us.
Did you know that, last year, the local news reporters produced over 3,000 pieces of local news which included things like stories, photographs, and news briefs? Looking at just the three main reporters Steve Schulwitz, Crystal Nelson, and Julie Riddle they produced 1,110 stories, 1,056 photographs, 648 briefs, and 91 in-depth known to journalists as “enterprise” projects.
Those numbers do not include the contributions of a summer intern we had or two other reporters who no longer work here.

ALPENA The coronavirus dominated front pages throughout 2020, but that wasn’t the only storyline that registered with Northeast Michigan readers.

HARRISVILLE Two Lincoln Manor residents have sued the apartment building and its management firm over what they call “uninhabitable” living conditions because of an ongoing bed bug investigation.
Through their attorney, Perry Schneider, of Cochran Firm Detroit, residents Myrtle Kilbourne and Ron Williams ask for at least $25,000 and other damages.
No answer was filed by the defendants as of today.
Neither Schneider nor Barb Corona, chief operating officer of Lincoln Manor management firm Prime Properties Management, could be reached for comment today.
