In April, 15 people from ten local businesses received training that provided them with tools to help reduce underage drinking and drunk driving. The Responsible Alcohol Seller/Server Training is sponsored by the Healthy Lincoln County Substance Use.
Autopsy determines Simpsons died of gunshot wounds
An autopsy of the bodies of Jarrod Simpson and Tristina Simpson indicated both died of gunshot wounds, according to a news release from the Village of Ruidoso.
Officials with the Ruidoso Police department said that though the investigation is ongoing, no persons are being sought in connection with the deaths. Officials declined to state whether the case is being investigated as possible murder/suicide or to speculate on the events to led to the deaths.
The Simpsons bodies were found April 13 around 3 p.m. in a home on the 100 block of La Luz Drive by officers of the Ruidoso Police Department.

LINCOLN COUNTY, Mo. Two people have been arrested in connection to a fatal stabbing in Lincoln County over the weekend.
On Sunday, the Lincoln County Sherriff’s Department was called to Grizzlys Lane for a fight. When officers arrived, they found 44-year-old Christopher Wright stabbed to death.
The Major Case Squad was called in to help with the investigation.
On Monday, the Major Case Squad released the names of two persons of interest in the stabbing, 24-year-old Alex B. Kersting and 41-year-old Monica L. Deroy.
At around 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Kersting and Deroy were found in a rural area of Lincoln County and arrested without incident.
