Court seeks charge sheet in ex-principal killing case

Karachi May 8, 2021 A judicial magistrate on Friday sought the investigation report against a suspect in a case pertaining to the murder of a former college principal during a robbery. The judicial magistrate of District Central directed the investigation officer to file a charge sheet against Shahidur Rehman, who reportedly confessed, during interrogation, to his involvement in the murder-cum-robbery. Sixty-two-year-old Nasreen had died while her husband Irfan, 65, had suffered wounds as robbers opened fire on their vehicle in Sharifabad on April 21 when they were returning home after shopping for this son’s wedding, according to the police. The IO said Rehman, who was recently jailed in another case, had confessed to his involvement in this crime as well. He moved an application in the court to seek his custody for further interrogation.

Suspect remanded in 10-year-old neighbour s rape case

Karachi May 6, 2021 A court on Wednesday remanded a suspect in police custody in a case pertaining to the rape of a minor girl. The suspect was arrested after enraged protesters blocked the main road off Esa Nagri. They also attacked the suspectâs house in the vicinity. The man was later booked for allegedly sexually assaulting his 10-year-old neighbour who took tuition from his sister at his house. The investigating officer produced the suspect before the judicial magistrate (East) to seek his physical remand for interrogation and complete the investigation. According to the complaint, the man subjected her to sexual assault when she came to his house for studies on Tuesday. The family and relatives of the girl surrounded the house of the suspect but he escaped from there.

KARACHI: A judicial magistrate on Wednesday remanded in police custody a suspect for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor girl. Police arrested and booked the man for his alleged involvement in assaulting his 10-year-old neighbour in the Essa Nagri area. On Wednesday, the investigating officer produced the suspect before the judicial magistrate (east) to seek his physical remand for interrogation and investigation. He informed that the suspect was a neighbour of the victim who used to visit his house for tuition. On the day of the incident, the suspect allegedly subjected her to a sexual assault when she came to his house, he added.

Elderly woman shot dead by robber - Newspaper

KARACHI: A 62-year-old woman was shot dead while her husband was wounded by a suspected robber in Sharifabad, said police and Edhi Foundation officials on Thursday. They added that the couple was attacked near the National Bank Chowrangi in Liaquatabad on Wednesday evening and were taken to a private hospital where the woman succumbed to her wounds during treatment early on Thursday morning. Sharifabad SHO Kamran Haider said that 65-year-old Irfan and his wife, Nasreen, 62, had gone for shopping in Liaquatabad market where they stayed for several hours. After shopping, they were returning home in Gulistan-i-Jauhar when they received a phone call from their son who had also gone shopping in furniture market of F.C. Area.
