Students win national Botball tournament Courtesy of Michael Xie A local team of high schoolers celebrate their national Botball robotics tournament win. In a typical year, several robotics teams from the Los Altos community compete in national and international Botball tournaments. This year, however, only one local team of high school students took on the national challenge – and it won. The virtual tournament, which welcomed more than 30 student robotics teams from across the nation April 10, required robots to complete tasks to accumulate points. Teams had to document their robots’ movements over Zoom and were judged on the robots’ abilities to accurately and quickly complete tasks.
