The violence that unfolded on the Red Fort and ITO during the Republic Day tractor rally has started to unravel the two-month-long and strong farmers’ protest. A day after the farmers’ tractor rally resulted in a slew of vandalism incidents, including the unfurling of a Sikh flag on the ramparts of Red Fort, Delhi Police registered 22 FIRs against 37 farmer leaders; Twitter suspended 550 accounts and two farm unions pulled out of the protest.
Entry and exit gates of several Delhi Metro stations have been temporarily closed as the farmers' tractor rally in the national capital turned violent. Here is all you need to know:
On the green line, the Delhi Metro has shut the gates of the following 11 stations: Brigadier Hoshiar Singh, Bahadurgarh City, Pandit Shree Ram Sharma, Tikri Border, Tikri Kalan, Ghevra, Mundka Industrial Area, Mundka, Rajdhani Park, Nangloi Railway Station, Nangloi.

In another update, the Delhi metro said that gates have also been shut of 11 stations in north Delhi. These are Samaypur Badli, Rohini Sector 18/19, Haiderpur Badli Mor, Jahangir Puri, Adarsh Nagar, Azadpur, Model Town, GTB Nagar, Vishwavidyalaya, Vidhan Sabha and Civil Lines.
New Delhi [India], January 26 (ANI): Protesters agitating against the new farm laws entered the premises of Red Fort in the national capital and waved flags they were carrying from its ramparts.
Farmers protest
Heavy security has been deployed all over the capital as the Kisan rally turns violent. From Red Fort to ITO, what was initially planned as a peaceful protest, has taken to the streets. In the visuals coming in, the protestors can be seen raising yellow flags at the Red fort. In view of security and traffic arrangements for Republic Day and the tractor rally, Delhi Police has issued revised traffic advisories.
Considering the chaos in the National Capital, Ministry of Home Affairs has ordered to suspend Internet services in some parts of Delhi-NCR. Entry/exit gates of Samaypur Badli, Rohini Sector 18/19, Haiderpur Badli Mor, Jahangir Puri, Adarsh Nagar, Azadpur, Model Town, GTB Nagar, Vishwavidyalaya, Vidhan Sabha and Civil Lines are closed, as per DMRC sources. Entry/exit gates of all stations on the green line, Lal Quila, Indraprastha, Delhi Gate and ITO metro stations have also been closed.
