A man was wanted for allegedly threatening a woman via social media.
Julio Enrique Vela Jr., 37, had a warrant out for his arrest for harassment by threats by the Laredo Police Department. He turned himself in to police on Thursday.
The case dates back to July 23, when LPD officers responded to the 2400 block of Lucia Court. A woman stated that a person she knows had sent her several threatening messages through social media.
LPD’s special investigations unit detectives took over the investigation. Investigators would identify the suspect as Vela. An assistant district attorney approved the issuance of an arrest warrant for Vela.
