Starting Friday, Laredo police officers will launch an operation targeting drunk drivers.
LPD will be working on an impaired driver mobilization grant funded by the Texas Department of Transportation. Officers will work overtime to enforce driving while intoxicated laws.
Officers will be tasked with identifying and arresting intoxicated drivers from March 5-21. LPD’s push to deter drunk driving coincides with state and other local law enforcement agencies statewide.

Laredo police closed off the area of Calton Road and Tesoro Plaza due to structural issues with a Spectrum tower, authorities said Thursday afternoon.
Sam s Club is closed, along with every street west of San Bernardo in the immediate area, according to police.
