A U.S. Border Patrol agent has been charged with smuggling migrants across the United States-Mexico international borderline, U.S. Customs and Border Protection said Wednesday.

Border Patrol arrests 11th sex offender in five weeks

A sex offender has been arrested as he tried to enter the country illegally, according to the U.S. Border Patrol.
On May 13, several individuals were apprehended entering the United States illegally. One man was identified as Jose Alfredo Bueno Rea, a 38-year-old Mexican citizen.
Border patrol said he had an extensive criminal history that includes lewd lascivious battery, engage in sex activity where the victim was less than 16 years old of age. Bueno Rea is pending prosecution for his immigration violations.
In about five weeks, Laredo Sector agents have apprehended at least 11 people crossing the border illegally who have been convicted of sexual assault crimes against children. All were deported.
