Students have said they sometimes observe teachers turning a blind eye to racial comments.
Bush said the district is working on building staff’s “skill set.”
The district is also in the process of implementing an anonymous reporting system for students.
“Our goal is for everyone to have a safe, supportive place to learn and feel a sense of belonging,” Bush said. “There is certainly work to do, we don’t deny it, but we’re proud of the progress we’ve put in place.”

‘Cryptozoo’ Review: ‘Yellow Submarine’ Meets ‘Tomb Raider’ in Psychedelic Animated Fantasy IndieWire 1/29/2021
“Cryptozoo,” the dazzling animated feature from cartoonist Dash Shaw, takes place in the past and feels like it hails from another dimension. At the same time, in its hectic blend of a colorful, imaginative universe and evil forces stacked against it, the movie has a unique connection to the modern era. Nowhere is this more apparent than in the opening minutes, when a pair of ‘60s-era hippies (voiced by Louisa Krause and Michael Cera) wander the woods, and one shares a dreams of storming the Capitol to reboot society. His partner is skeptical. “Utopias never work out,” she says.
Pindrop Shop owner Jessica Zontini and friend Laura Gray have started their own yarn line, Pindrop Fibers. We purchased raw, freshly shorn fleeces from local farmers, had them mill-spun at an Ohio fiber mill, and hand-dyed them with natural (mostly plant-derived botanical) dyes, said Gray, who raises Shetland sheep on a farm near Gilmore. Some of the yarn has never left the state of Ohio, as we foraged for some of our own dye plants as well. We also have handspun yarn.
Pindrop Fibers offers naturally dyed fabric, and fibers that buyers can spin themselves. We wanted to create a product from the local sheep, Zontini said. We also like to focus on the rare breeds of sheep.
