Pindrop Fibers offers yarn from local sheep to buyers worldwide

Pindrop Shop owner Jessica Zontini and friend Laura Gray have started their own yarn line, Pindrop Fibers. We purchased raw, freshly shorn fleeces from local farmers, had them mill-spun at an Ohio fiber mill, and hand-dyed them with natural (mostly plant-derived botanical) dyes, said Gray, who raises Shetland sheep on a farm near Gilmore. Some of the yarn has never left the state of Ohio, as we foraged for some of our own dye plants as well. We also have handspun yarn. Pindrop Fibers offers naturally dyed fabric, and fibers that buyers can spin themselves. We wanted to create a product from the local sheep, Zontini said. We also like to focus on the rare breeds of sheep.
