Blake Lively (“The Rhythm Section”) is set to star in and produce the Netflix original film “Lady Killer,” based on the Dark Horse Comic of the same name, with Oscar winner Diablo Cody writing the screenplay adaptation, according to an individual with knowledge of the project.
Mike Richardson and Keith Goldberg of Dark Horse Entertainment are producing, along with Lively and and Kate Vorhoff for B for Effort.
Lively will play Josie Schuller, who gives every appearance of being the perfect 1950 housewife but who leads a secret live as a trained killer for hire when she’s not catering to her family’s needs.
Coming off the back of
The Rhythm Section, Blake Lively seemingly has all the right credentials when it comes to playing a killer for hire, which might go some way to explaining why Netflix have tapped her to star in and produce
Lady Killer, an adaptation of the Dark Horse Comics title, which will be written by Oscar-winning
Juno scribe Diablo Cody.
According to Deadline, Lively will take the role of Josie Schuller, a seemingly normal woman who has all the attributes of the perfect housewife and mother of her time, yet secretly works as hired killer for a mafia organization. But her double life doesn’t please her employer: he doubts her liability, and soon decides to have her eliminated.

Hollywood star Blake Lively has signed on to headline the Netflix feature “Lady Killer”, based on the Dark Horse Comic series.
According to Entertainment Weekly, “The Rhythm Section” actor will also serve as producer on the film to be adapted by Oscar-winning writer Diablo Cody.
