EAST NORRITON, PA Laurel House, a Montgomery County organization working to eradicate domestic violence throughout the area for the last 40 years, has received a major funding boost from the state.
The nonprofit has received a $1 million grant to help with a wide array of updates and improvements to their facility in East Norriton. The grant to Laurel House is.vital to our community safety, State Sen. Maria Collett said in a statement announcing the funding. Domestic violence is widely misunderstood and often overlooked until it is too late, and any support we can lend to organizations like Laurel House and the families they serve is critical.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA State funding for projects in Chester and Montgomery counties includes $1.75 million for the new Phoenixville Fire Station, $2 million for an emergency services facility in Upper Providence Township, and $1 million for a domestic shelter.
The Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program grants were announced this week.
The Phoenixville Fire Station will receive $1.75 million toward construction and infrastructure expenses as well as for related costs for community health, safety, and education. Projects include adding an office and support space and a six-bay drive-thru apparatus room and improving indoor and outdoor training capabilities.

About $4 million in state grants for three projects in Montgomery County was announced by the office of state Sen. Katie Muth, D-44th Dist.
The largest grant, $2 million, will go toward the construction of a new emergency services center in Upper Providence Township.
Another $1 million will be used toward the restoration of the historic Perkiomen Bridge Hotel in Collegeville and another $1 million has been awarded to Laurel House, Montgomery County s domestic violence shelter.

Upper Providence Emergency Services
The $2 million grant will support the construction of a fire and emergency services facility and training building on land owned by Upper Providence Township. The building will serve as the headquarters and primary response location for all fire and EMS services, including the township s emergency operations center.
