PHOENIXVILLE, PA State funding for projects in Chester and Montgomery counties includes $1.75 million for the new Phoenixville Fire Station, $2 million for an emergency services facility in Upper Providence Township, and $1 million for a domestic shelter.
The Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program grants were announced this week.
The Phoenixville Fire Station will receive $1.75 million toward construction and infrastructure expenses as well as for related costs for community health, safety, and education. Projects include adding an office and support space and a six-bay drive-thru apparatus room and improving indoor and outdoor training capabilities.
The Third Avenue Streetscape project aims to transform Third Avenue as a gateway into Coatesville from the new train station and includes the repaving of Third Avenue and the installation of sidewalk amenities, including ADA accessibility improvements from Lincoln Highway to Fleetwood Street.
