Picture: FIJIAN GOVT Village headmen and community leaders in Lami were yesterday trained in implementing COVID-19 awareness in their communities and ways on how to spread accurate information. Officials from the Ministry of Fisheries continued their work with influential members of society to spread awareness about COVID-19 and its importance in their respective communities and settlements in Lami. These included Nakurukuru Village, Lami Village, Nabuli Settlement and Nadonumai. According to a post on the Fijian Government’s Facebook page,  villagers were receptive to the initiative and were also eager to receive COVID-19 vaccination after awareness was taken to them in this manner; where members of their own communities were utilised to spread awareness.

According to protocol she was swabbed and tested positive for COVID-19. She was not vaccinated.
