Morgan County Drainage Board discusses ditches Keith Rhoades R-T Correspondent MORGAN COUNTY Morgan County Commissioner/drainage board member Bryan Collier asked a question of county surveyor Terry Brock during Monday morning s meeting of the county drainage board. Where will the water go? Collier asked. At least two county drains/ditches may be facing problems in the future. There are normally two main types of ditches/drains in the county. First is an unregulated drain/ditch. Those are normally found on private property and normally regulated by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources. The second type is the regulated ditch/drain. It is regulated by the county s drainage board. It may run on private or public property.

Mooresville RDC approves professional services agreement for potential Indiana Street updates The Reporter Times MOORESVILLE  Anyone who has traveled along Indiana Street during the morning or evening rush hours has likely noticed that the roadway can get a bit congested. During Thursday s meeting of the Mooresville Redevelopment Commission (RDC), member Virginia Perry presented an agreement for Banning Engineering to provide professional services for updates along Indiana Street that could help with traffic flow and remove a drainage ditch that flows near the street. According to Perry, the agreement would cost $5,500. She presented the idea for the RDC to either cover the cost completely, or see if it could be split three ways between the commission, the town of Mooresville and Mooresville Consolidated School Corp.

Martinsville opts out of state opioid lawsuits

Budget workshops Martinsville Mayor Kenny Costin told members of the council that the city would host its budget workshops for the 2022 budget from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on the evenings of regularly-scheduled council meetings in July and August. Those meetings will take place on July 12 and 26, and Aug. 9 and 23 in council chambers at Martinsville City Hall. Funds transfer Members of the council also approved two fund transfer resolutions during Monday s meeting. One transfer included $1,000 from the city engineer s professional fees line item to office supplies and $1,000 from the council s safety program line item to janitorial supplies. The other transfer was for $2,000 from the building inspector s other line item to its gas line item.
