More COVID-19 Cases in Pennsylvania (Harrisburg, PA)   Positive COVID-19 cases are on the rise in Pennsylvania. The Pennsylvania Department of Health added over 8,500 new cases to its COVID-19 dashboard yesterday. The total number of cases in the state is now over 622,000 and there are currently more than 6,000 people hospitalized because of the coronavirus. Susquehanna Valley Restaurants Ordered to Close (Susquehanna Valley, PA)   The Department of Agriculture Bureau of Food Safety is ordering about 16 Susquehanna Valley restaurants to close for violating COVID-19 restrictions. Inspectors announced yesterday that they have closed down a total of 33 restaurants after completing almost 400 inspections last week and 16 of those were from the Susquehanna Valley. One restaurant was in Cumberland County, two were in Dauphin and Lebanon Counties, but the most closures came out of Lancaster County with eleven. Governor Wolf s in-door dining ban is supposed to end January 4th.

Man stabbed to death in Lancaster: police Updated Dec 29, 2020; Police are investigating a stabbing that killed a man Tuesday morning in Lancaster. An unidentified man was found unconscious and “beyond help” around 8 a.m. just inside the front door of 25 South Ann Street, according to the Lancaster Bureau of Police. He died at the scene. Lancaster police were originally called to the scene for a disturbance, but it was upgraded to a stabbing before they arrived, police said. The victim has not yet been identified, but police do not believe he lives at the Ann Street address. Police are talking to neighbors and the building’s residents, and are asking the public for help piecing together what happened. Several people have already been interviewed.
