Earlville Police Officer seriously injured during pursuit

April 11, 2021 City of Earlville Building- Studstill Media Photo EARLVILLE – Multiple police cars were damaged and one area police officer suffered serious injuries after a vehicle pursuit across Northern LaSalle County.  Saturday night LaSalle County Sheriff’s deputies were in pursuit of a vehicle after an attempted traffic stop on US Route 34 near Earlville when reportedly the vehicle fled and an Earlville Officer was injured in a crash near the intersection of East 9th and US RT 34.   The officer was airlifted to a Rockford Hospital in serious but stable condition, according to Earlville Police Chief Darin Crask.  The suspects vehicle, a sedan with reportedly three occupants, was involved in a crash at the end of the pursuit north of Mendota near East 3rd and North 46th Road.  The driver, 23-year-old Jaquaya Roy of Chicago was arrested for aggravated fleeing and eluding, plus cited for speeding over 100 mph and taken to the LaSalle County Jail where she is awaiting b

Yorkville woman identified in LaSalle County crash

  OTTAWA – A 56-year-old woman from Yorkville has been identified in the fatal vehicle accident north of Leonore on Sunday.   According to the LaSalle County Coroner’s Office, Kathleen M. Staunton was driving near the intersection of E. 906th Rd. and 1850th Road in Richland Township when the single-vehicle crash occurred. The incident will be further investigated by the LaSalle County Coroner’s Office, and the LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office.

Man Fatally Shoots Ex-Wife s Parents, Prompting Manhunt in Sheridan, Police Say © Provided by NBC Chicago Authorities say a man fatally shot his ex-wife s parents in an incident that sparked a manhunt in Sheridan, Illinois, prompting officials to warn residents to stay inside during the search. The LaSalle County Sheriff s Office said that at around 9:49 p.m., a woman called 911 to report that a man was beating on her front door and trying to get into her house on West Church Street in Sheridan. Authorities said she then reported that her windows had been shot out. LaSalle County deputies, Sheridan police and Sandwich police responded to the scene to find a black Cadillac parked in the woman s driveway and that the suspect had fled the area, officials said. The woman said she believed the suspect to be her ex-husband, who officials on Wednesday morning identified as 37-year-old Donald Fredres, of Sandwich.
