The front of Saturdayâs 150,000-strong march for victory to Palestine leaving Hyde Park
âI bring a message of defiance from Jerusalem, the eternal capital of the state of Palestine, and from besieged and heroic Gaza, and from the refugee camps â we will not be denied any more,â Palestinian Ambassador to the UK Husam Zomlot told the mass rally outside the Israeli embassy in Kensington on Saturday.
More than 150,000 workers and youth marched for victory to Palestine from Speakers Corner in Hyde Park to the Israeli Embassy in Kensington on Saturday afternoon.
Zomlot told the rally: âI am told that there are tens of thousands demonstrating in 80 town and cities around the UK today.
Investigation ongoing into death of woman killed in car crash An investigation is still ongoing into the death of a Slough woman who died in a crash in Buckinghamshire. Simran Kaur Johal, 23, was one of five people in a blue Volkswagen Golf which mounted a roundabout and rolled onto its roof at around 2.30am on October 10 last year on A413 Amersham Road, in Chalfont St Peter. Detectives closed the road between A40 Oxford Road and The Greyhound Inn at Joiners Lane roundabout for more than 10 hours as they investigated the deadly smash. Ms Johal was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Messages of praise has flooded in for teachers and staff from families across Slough thanking them for all of their support during the pandemic. Teachers and educational staff have worked tirelessly to adapt and overcome the challenges and pressures of the pandemic whilst minimising the impact of lockdown on children s learning is one of their main priorities. Last week we asked residents on the Slough Observer Facebook page if they had any schools or teachers they wanted to thank for their support during the pandemic. We were inundated with messages for the wonderful work of school staff with people commenting that every staff member was worthy of praise for all they have managed to achieve in such difficult circumstances.
She is Gillian May - currently principal at Berkshire College of Agriculture (BCA) near Maidenhead. Tony Dixon, the chairman of governors at Windsor Forest Colleges Group which runs both colleges as well as Strode s in Egham, announced the appointment this week. Mr Dixon said: “We have been rigorous in our search for a new leader and are extremely pleased to have secured the services of Gillian who is well known to the group and has been a strong collaborative partner during her time at BCA. “We are extremely grateful to Kate Webb who after 16 years at the helm, agreed to stay on to successfully steer the Group through the many challenges generated by the pandemic. We can now have a smooth transition to bring Gillian on board to lead the team.”
