The smash happened at around 4.30pm in Longford Road.
A Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: At 4.32pm on Thursday, April 29, we received a call reporting that a road traffic collision had taken place in Newport involving three cars. Three fire appliances including the rescue tender were mobilised from Newport, Telford and Wellington. An operations officer was in attendance. Two casualties released into care of ambulance.
It is not known how serious the casualties injuries are at this stage.
Earlier this month, councillors said they were considering steps to improve the narrow road, which runs between Newport and Longford and connects the Haberdashers Adams Grammar School in Newport town centre with boarding accommodation at Longford Hall.
