Don’t mention judges’ name in police record, court warns

MULTAN: The Lahore High Court Multan Bench on Tuesday ordered police officials to keep sanctity of honorable courts and expressed displeasure over quoting judges name in FIRs, police Roznamchas and record, court sources said.
Judge Mr Justice Ali Zia Bajwa while proceeding cases in the court expressed aversion over writing judges names in police documents. He warned police to only quote name of honorable courts instead of judges’ names.
The apex court ruled that in cases registered on court orders, only the name of relevant court should be mentioned in the future while the name of any judge of the apex court should not be mentioned.

MULTAN: Justice Chaudhry Abdul Aziz of the Lahore High Court Multan Bench on Friday expressed displeasure over poor police investigation in a case. The court also warned the SSP Investigation to improve investigation otherwise the court would summon the Multan CPO. Earlier, Muhammad Usman Naeem filed a petition in which he alleged that 10-12 members of a land grabbers group attacked him to snatch his property. He said that one member of the group was injured during firing by his accomplices, but the police were reluctant to incorporate relevant sections. The court adjourned the hearing of the case till mid January.
