Historically, West Lafayette versus Lafayette Central Catholic football will not match up with the best rivalries in the state. But when the two programs renewed their rivalry for the 2011 season, you d be hard-pressed to find a more competitive battle between two top-tier programs, including the first meeting in Week 9 of the 2011 season, both two years removed from undefeated state championship seasons. Class A No. 1 Central Catholic defeated 3A No. 1 West Lafayette 21-14 on essentially a walk-off pick six. West Lafayette would advance to the Class 3A north semistate and Central Catholic went on to win the Class A title.

A two-out rally by Attica in the first inning put the Red Ramblers up 4-0 on North Vermillion in their opening game of the 1A Sectional 53 at Lafayette Central Catholic, but the team lost the lead and then their final comeback came up short in an 8-6 loss to the eventual sectional champion Falcons.
After the first two batters were outs, Ryleigh Douglass singled and scored on a triple by Sadie Swift who then scored thanks to a Falcon error on a hit by Taylor Clevenger to make it 2-0.
