Smoke⦠alarm. Two words, five letters each. When you think about it in those terms, itâs kind of small. But when you think about what those things actually do -the benefits?âthose are big, big, big.
Just in the last month, there have been multiple fires in Acadiana - and in one, investigators say, there was no smoke or fire alarm to be found.
So, isnât it great that - year-round, actually the Lafayette Fire Department is part of a statewide program called âOperation Save A Lifeâ. And this makes it even greater: Firefighters will not only bring to you a brand-new fire alarm, but theyâll install it as well.

LANCASTER, Pa. The Lafayette Fire Company is raising money for cancer prevention initiatives through the 2nd annual Fastnachts for Fassnacht.
The event is organized by Brett and Alec Fassnacht, volunteer firefighters at Lafayette Fire Company.
They hold the event to honor the life of their father, Jan Fassnacht, and the legacy he left behind.
He served as an emergency responder, a police officer, and a volunteer at Lafayette Fire Company before dying of cancer 26 years ago.
