For 2021, Art on the Mall and the Do-Dah Parade are planned as in-person events, while local art museum’s Arts Fair is virtual during the “JumpstART” summer kickoff set for June 4-5.
The events had many names through the years, including “June Jubilee” and “Kickoff to Summer,” organizers said. The new name of “JumpstART” creates a cohesive way to let people know what the weekend is about, said Kalamazoo Downtown Partnership Communications and Marketing Manager Meghan Behymer.
“JumpstART brings all the events the community has come to love: Art on the Mall, Do-Dah Parade, KIA Arts Fair, and Concerts in the Park, and adds Beats on Bates to create five days of art, fun and community in downtown,” Behymer said.
