Ateneo opens facilities for staff, students affected by flooding

Ateneo de Manila University (Photo from AdMU) AdMU has opened its facilities in Loyola Heights in Quezon City and its Rockwell campus for Ateneo Professional Schools employees, faculty, and students needing emergency and temporary shelter. Heavy rains brought by the southwest monsoon enhanced by Typhoon Fabian triggered flooding in several areas in the country. As of July 24, around 14,000 residents have been preemptively evacuated as rains continue to dampen parts of Luzon, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services (Pagasa) announced that Fabian has already left the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) but it would still continue to bring rains over Luzon in the next 24 hours.
