16th century-era drama casts 10, including “Game of Thrones” alum Charles Dance

Starz has filled out the cast for its upcoming 16th century royal drama “The Serpent Queen,” adding 10 alongside star Samantha Morton.
Amrita Acharia, Enzo Cilenti, Barry Atsma, Nicholas Burns and Danny Kirrane have joined as series regulars, with Charles Dance, Ludivine Sagnier, Liv Hill, Kiruna Stamell and Colm Meaney cast in recurring roles.
The eight-episode series, which is based on the book “Catherine de Medici: Renaissance Queen of France” by Leonie Frieda, will be written by Justin Haythe (“Revolutionary Road,” “Red Sparrow,” “The Lone Ranger”).
Each subject will be portrayed by an A-list actress who will also interview the real life “female crime lord” at the center of the story. Casting is already underway for the first season, which is expected to debut in 2022.
The geographical move could explain his recent trip down memory lane. On Tuesday (May 4), he shared another photo of himself in a juvenile detention center when he was a teenager. In the caption, he expressed regret for some of his past choices as well as love for his late grandmother.

New HBO Max True Crime Miniseries Turns Elizabeth Olsen Into an Axe-Wielding Maniac
Elizabeth Olsen is set to play axe wielding murderer Candy Montgomery in the HBO Max limited true crime series Love and Death.
The true crime limited series
Love and Death will see Elizabeth Olsen playing notorious axe murderer Candy Montgomery, who hacked her best friend to death in 1980 as the result of a deadly love-triangle. Set in the small Texas town of Wylie,
Love and Death will be based on Jim Atkinson and Joe Bob Briggs book Evidence of Love: A True Story of Passion and Death in the Suburbs , as well as a number of Texas Monthly articles from the time.
The Power co-creator and producer announces on his Instagram and Twitter account that he now lives in the Texas city while teasing his new crime anthology series.
Martha Marcy May Marlene and, more recently,
WandaVision. David E. Kelley will write the series and executive produce alongside Nicole Kidman and Per Saari, and
Homeland’s Lesli Linka Glatter will direct.
The series centers on the true story of a suburban Texas crime the brutal ax murder of Betty Gore by her friend Candace “Candy” Montgomery.
