After her successful run on Marvel s WandaVision, Elizabeth Olsen is returning to the small screen in a new series for HBO Max entitled Love and Death.
The 32-year-old actress has signed on to play real-life axe murderer Candy Montgomery in the new series, according to Variety.
Big Little Lies creator David E. Kelley will create the show and executive produce alongside Nicole Kidman, with Lesli Linka Glatter on board to direct.

Elizabeth Olsen is set to star in a new HBO Max limited series that boasts an all-star lineup behind the camera as well.
Olsen will star in “Love and Death,” which hails from writer and executive producer David E. Kelley. Nicole Kidman will also executive produce, with Lesli Linka Glatter onboard to direct.

The series is based on the true story of Texas housewife Candy Montgomery, who murdered her friend from church, Betty Gore, with an axe in 1980. Olsen will star as Montgomery. The show is inspired by the book “Evidence of Love: A True Story of Passion and Death in the Suburbs” and a collection of articles from Texas Monthly (“Love & Death In Silicon Prairie, Part I & II”).

Discovery+ has ordered the true-crime anthology series “Confessions of a Crime Queen” from Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and Lionsgate Television, a spokesperson for the streaming service told TheWrap Monday.
The show is described as “a first-of-its-kind anthology series that brings to life riveting, headline-making stories by combining documentary and scripted genres.”
The plan is for each season of “Confessions of a Crime Queen” to focus on the true story of “one larger-than-life woman who created and led a multi-million-dollar criminal empire before a dramatic fall from power” and for the actresses’ portraying the subjects to interview the real-life crime lords.
