Two adults and a young child were rescued Monday morning on Moscow Mountain after their snowmobile got stuck in the snow Sunday night, according to the Latah County Sheriff’s Office.
Two adults and a three-year-old have been rescued off Moscow Mountain after their snowmobile got stuck in heavy snow.
The Latah County Sheriff’s Office received a call about the stranded snowmobilers Monday morning. The adults and toddler got stuck late Sunday afternoon and were able to spend the night staying warm in an outbuilding that had a woodstove.
The sheriff’s office search and rescue team was assisted by Troy Volunteer Firefighters using their tracked side-by-side to rescue the adults and child late Monday morning. All three were were checked out OK.

MOSCOW, Idaho The Moscow Police Department found a 77-year-old man dead on Friday after he walked away from an assisted living facility Thursday night.
Jerry Kendall, who had dementia, walked away from the Palouse Hills Assisted Living Facility at 1401 N. Polk St. at about 6 p.m. on Thursday. The Moscow Police Department then said on Friday at about 1:45 p.m. that Kendall had been found dead just after 10 a.m. near Quail Run Family.
The MPD said it is investigating the cause of Kendall s death.
The Moscow Police Department is asking residents to help search for an elderly dementia patient who walked away from an assisted living facility Thursday night. 77-year-old Jerry Kendall walked away from the Palouse Hills Assisted Living Facility on North Polk Street around 6:00.
Kendall is 5’10”,170 pounds with gray hair. He was last seen wearing pajama pants, a pink t-shirt and socks with no shoes.
The Moscow PD, Latah County Sheriff’s Office and Latah County Search and Rescue are searching for Kendall. Authorities are asking people to check their vehicles, outbuildings and other structures where he might be.
