The home was founded by the Northern Canada Evangelical Mission at a site near Montreal Lake, and housed Indigenous students from the Lac La Ronge Indian Band and elsewhere in northern Canada from 1952 to 1994.
Police said they received the complaint in October 2020, but were prevented from beginning an investigation because of restrictions imposed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
