Houston Farmers Market has landed a major new tenant. Legendary Viet-Cajun restaurant
Crawfish & Noodles will open its second location at the property, real estate developer MLB Capital Partners announced. The restaurant hardly needs an introduction, but let’s use this opportunity to recount a few of its most prominent accomplishments. Credited with leading the culinary movement that blends Vietnamese and Cajun traditions, chef-owner Trong Nguyen was named a finalist in the 2020 James Beard Awards in the Best Chef: Texas category after being named a semifinalist for Best Chef: Southwest in both 2018 and 2019.
The popular Vietnamese-Cajun restaurant will join a Chris Shepherd concept at the Airline Drive site.

The Houston Farmers Market will be opening this year with shops and restaurants starting up over the next several months.
Crawfish & Noodles, one of Houston s most venerable restaurants, is expanding with its second location opening this fall at the new Houston Farmers Market development at 2520Â Airline Dr.
MLB Capital Partners, which is developing the Houston Farmers Market, announced Thursday that the restaurant owned by James Beard-award finalist Trong Nguyen will occupy a 3,298-square-foot space at the redeveloped market, which also includes Wild Oats, a restaurant from Chris Shepherd s Underbelly Hospitality, and a butcher shop from R-C Ranch Texas Craft Meats.

As Houston continues to work its way out of an icy grip, the crawfish that is so much a part of local dining traditions is also emerging from the big chill.
Last week’s historic freeze put a temporary dent in crawfish harvesting from producers in southeast Texas and southwest Louisiana where crawfish ponds were iced over. That caused a supply disruption that, fortunately for Houston diners, came at a time when there wasn’t high demand (restaurants were closed during last week’s power and water issues).
