Tourists go to Murree in hordes

Islamabad : Eid holidays may be over but tourists went to Murree hill station and adjoining areas in hordes on Saturday to enjoy pleasant weather and see sights.
Pindi Point, Kashmir Point, the Mall and Ayubia were their main attractions. A sizable number of youth, especially from Rawalpindi and Islamabad, were seen there.
The police checked tourists for COVID-19 vaccination certificates in line with the guidelines issued by the National Command and Control Centre to stem the spread of coronavirus and sent back the unvaccinated ones.
According to them, 85,000 vehicles entered the hill station during Eid days against the capacity of 3,200. A total of 340 traffic personnel were deployed there to manage traffic and guide tourists.

1,530 tickets issued to traffic violators

Rawalpindi : City Traffic Police (CTP) have issued 1,530 challan slips on over speeding and imposed fines amounting to more than Rs520,050 on the rules violators during last month.
According to Incharge Camera Squad, Hafiz Iftikhar, the squad on the directive of Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rawalpindi Rai Mazhar Iqbal, launched a campaign to check over speeding on various roads of the district and took action in accordance with the law against the violators.
Traffic plan for Eid ul Fitr

Rawalpindi : City Traffic Police Rawalpindi on Wednesday issued Eidul Fitr Plan to maintain traffic flow and to ensure government standard operating procedure (SOPs) are followed in letter and spirit during the lockdown.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rawalpindi Rai Mazhar Iqbal said that during the lockdown and Eidul Fitr, 623 traffic police personnel including 07 DSPs, 30 inspectors, 436 traffic wardens, and 160 traffic assistants would perform their duties. CTO said that tourists places will be shut down to implement government orders to contain coronavirus, he added.
To prevent the entry of tourists on all the inbound and outbound routes of Murree, 13 special pickets have been set up with additional personnel of the traffic police where the district police along with the traffic police will also be present 24 hours.
Rawalpindi: Chief Traffic Officer Rawalpindi Rai Mazhar Iqbal on Tuesday paid a surprise visit to different branches of the CTP Headquarters and directed the officers concerned to provide all.
